Description

Liz is writing to Avery and Rivers in this letter. She is concerned about her boys’ well-being, both physical and mental. Liz gives Avery and Rivers an update on family since they are both away at school. She tells the two brothers about their younger brother, Lee. Lee has just turned fifteen and appears to be more than ready to join his brothers at college. Ever concerned about the opinion of her boys, she asks, “What would you think if your mommy should jump into the lecturing business? Would you shrink from the frowns of old Mrs. Grundy?” So Liz is ready to do work outside of the home, but realizes that this might not be accepted by friends, neighbors, or her sons.
