Description

In the article DeBerry shared with her interviewer that she believes that women are more honest and should be active participants in local politics. During the mayoral election of 1980 DeBerry worried about the candidates and possibly ending up with a Donald Duck mayor and suggests that women be drafted into running for office. Worry was expressed that too many voters were turned off of the mayoral election and that people would vote for a candidate that was less serious than the others. DeBerry expressed fear about the now notorious Prince Mongo revieving votes because voters are displeased with politicions. DeBerry voiced her oppenion that women are more honest than men and would be more concentrated on the issues than other matters.
